Product Info
ISO & POLYOL STYROFOAM HARD COATING SYSTEM-POLYUREA
The X-8586 is a high-performance polyurea hard coating specifically designed for enhancing the surface hardness of foam sculptures.
This innovative, spray-applied coating provides exceptional protection and durability, making it an ideal choice for artists and manufacturers in the foam carving industry.
With its fast curing time and ease of application, the X-8586 is perfect for both professional styrofoam carving companies and DIY enthusiasts.
Key Features
: The X-8586 forms a robust, hard film that significantly strengthens foam sculptures against physical damage, including scratches, dents, and chipping.
: With a gel time of just 15 seconds and a tack-free time of 60 seconds at 25°C, this polyurea coating allows for rapid project completion.
: Unlike traditional polyurea coatings, the X-8586 is formulated for easy sanding, enabling users to achieve a smooth finish that can be painted or textured as desired.
: Once cured, the coating is nearly odorless, making it suitable for indoor use and poorly ventilated areas without compromising air quality.
: A flame-retardant version of the X-8586 is available, providing additional safety for projects requiring enhanced fire resistance.
The X-8586 polyurea hard coating is ideal for:
: Protects artistic foam creations from environmental damage and enhances their longevity.
: Ensures that foam props withstand the rigors of performance environments.
: Provides weather resistance against UV rays, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

Application
Coverage and Application Instructions
Theoretically, one kilogram of X-8586 can cover approximately one square meter at a thickness of one millimeter. However, users should account for a typical loss rate of around 20%.
Ensure the surface of the foam is clean and dry before application.
Mix components A and B thoroughly using a paddle mixer.
Apply using a heated dual-component spray system for optimal results.
Inspect frequently during application to ensure even coverage.
